NoStairway Media is embarking on an exciting new video production project for renowned opera singers Naomi and Miguel Scott de Moncloa. The project, produced under the duo’s name of Sul Fiato, will aim to bring Opera to a new 21st century audience, whilst retaining all of the beauty and grace associated with traditional opera performances.
This mixture of traditional and modern elements will also be extended to the technical aspects of the video production itself. The video will be shot at 24fps using the Canon 5d Mk3, allowing us to take full advantage of the DSLR’s full sized frame sensor and a fantastic selection of lenses capable of very short focal length ranges, ideal for creating a soft filmic look.
The Canon will be used in conjunction with a custom grip kit designed by John Emmett of BPR (Broadcast Project Research), designers and manufacturers of an incredible array of customised hardware for broadcasters and other media applications. The grip kit provides high precision control over focal length and zoom, and allows the fine attention to detail that a project like this requires.

The Opera piece, Verdi’s Parigi, o cara from La traviata, will be performed by Naomi Scott de Moncloa and her husband Miguel, and has been brought up to date with a modern setting as well as script and storyboard treatment by Nostairway media. We are delighted to be a part of this incredible video production project, and we are looking forward to bringing you more news and updates soon.
