As a recording studio in London, we have a very wide and varied clientele. This can lead to some interesting moments base on semantics and language.
So we thought we’d share one or two choice phrases and their definitions as interpreted buy our staff. Hope you enjoy.
Phrase: “We know these songs like the back of our hands. We should be in and out in an hour”
Definition: “None of the band have much recording experience.”
Phrase: “I can’t really hear the bass much.”
Definition:”I’m a bass player.”
Phrase: “OK, OK! This time I’m going to nail it.”
Definition: “You may as well put your feet up, we’re going to be here for a while.”
Phrase: “When this song is a hit, you’re going to be a famous producer.”
Definition: “We can’t actually pay you.”
Phrase: “Do you charge by the half hour?”
Definition: “None of the band have much recording experience.”
Phrase: “If I sing a bit flat, you can tune it, right?”
Definition: “I want everything now and I’m not interested in working hard to get it.”
Phrase: “Oh! Don’t you use Pro Tools, then?”
Definition: “I’ve done A level music tech.”
