We may not all be avid movie fans, but even if you don’t usually devote much time watching films it’d be hard to find someone who isn’t excited by what will soon come into cinemas in the second quarter of 2023 and beyond.

John Wick
After years of anticipation, Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves’ highly-anticipated John Wick franchise finally hits the silver screen in 2023. What will this chapter hold for everyone’s favorite antihero? While no details have been revealed yet, director Stahelski has raised eyebrows by suggesting that fans should not expect a “happy ending” for its lead character as he fights against — and may even be presumed dead by — the High Table.
Despicable Again
Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Seth Rogen team up alongside iconic video game character Mario in the upcoming blockbuster Despicable Me. Superstar Shigeru Miyamoto brings his beloved creation to life with Keegan-Michael Key lending his voice as Toad while Charlie Day rounds out the cast voicing Luigi!

The Nun is Back
Upon their debut it will have been 27 incredible years since Tom Cruise first took on his iconic role of Ethan Hunt – but this installment won’t be alone! Esai Morales joins an all-star cast including – familiar franchise faces Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Czerny and Vanessa Kirby for a thrilling story filled with action that no fan should miss.
Not listed in all Top 10 Movies lists, the Conjuring Universe is further expanding with the sequel to The Nun, bringing viewers back into a horror-filled world. Four years after Taissa Farmiga’s character battled evil in her convent walls, Sister Irene reencounters Valak when an unfortunate priest dies at its hands.
Bonnie Aarons will once again take up the role of Valak while fans eagerly await news on whether Farmiga will make another appearance as well.
More Sand
Probably in everyone’s Top 10 Movies list, The first instalments day-and-date release on HBO Max may have put this sequel into question, but fear not: Dune: Part Two is officially a go, with director Denis Villeneuve claiming the film will cover the remainder of Frank Herbert’s 1965 opus (and open exclusively in theatres)
Who You Gonna Snap Chat?
Afterlife director Jason Reitman returns to bridge the gap between classic Ghostbusters and modern-day comedy with a sequel set in New York featuring stars Carrie Coon, McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and potentially Paul Rudd. Additionally, viewers will be revisiting the firehouse from time gone by at last – just as teased in Afterlife!
Gotta be Illegal
And the final heads up in our Top 10 Movies in waiting . . . . . After years of anticipation, the highly-anticipated Legally Blonde 3 is officially in production. Set to debut sometime reportedly in 2023, audiences can look forward to reprising their favorite characters from the beloved Reese Witherspoon comedy franchise along with Jennifer Coolidge returning for a third installment and Jamie Suk making his feature directorial debut. Despite delays due to COVID-19, this much awaited sequel looks poised for success!
