Mcdonalds – watch their success on the history of corporate video productions

In 2020, the first quarter wasn’t looking good for McDonalds. Global sales declined by 23.9%. On June 30th2020, McDonalds sales started to increase.  Around this date, almost every restaurant globally was open to serve their loyal customers. By the end of the year, their sales had reached 4.73 billion U.S. dollars.

Although the global company had a tough time during the first quarter of 2020, the success of the second quarter continued. Sales rose by 9% from $4.73 billion to $5.12 billion by 2021.

President and CEO of McDonalds Chris Kempczinski stated that “our teams around the world are focused on executing our Accelerating the Arches strategy at the highest level — we’re maximizing our marketing in a culturally relevant way, committed to the great-tasting customer favourites on our core menu and doubling down on digital, delivery and drive thru to create a faster and easier customer experience.”

I have been a huge fan of McDonalds all my life. The evolution of the company has grown with me. I always enjoyed seeing a poster or large plastic figure of the primary mascot Ronald McDonald. The clown for me was a unique selling point.

McDonalds claimed millions of fans through engaging video production over the years. I love how the evolution of the company has helped the world see the bigger picture of why we should care for our planet. Corporate videos help us connect with our new role in life as people who care about helping our communities. As a consumer, I believe that the history and the dynamics of the company is present every time I walk inside a restaurant, where ever I am in the world.

LinkedIn

In 2020 LinkedIn made a profit of $8.05 billion dollars in the fiscal year. This is a great result as in 2018, they made a profit of $5.26 billion.

During 2021 the company is predicted to have an increase in revenue, increasing by 11.2%. It’s estimated that the revenue for advertisements will go from $1.59 billion to $1.77 billion.

CEO of LinkedIn Ryan Roslansky posted a quote from his father in an article that reads “Ryan, true character and success is defined not by how you act when everything is going your way, rather it’s how you respond when everything isn’t…”. Ryan goes on to say “that conversation with my dad has stuck with me since. And I go back to that quote on nearly a weekly basis. Work life is turbulent”.

I think this is very true. I love LinkedIn. Everything is so accessible and the benefits you gain from what the company has to offer is great. As well as job offers, LinkedIn also has a learning feature where you can build up your skills in whatever industry you wish to pursue. These courses are easy to follow and aren’t intense at all. You can join groups to help you along on your learning journey. You also get a certificate at the end of your course which you can add to your profile.

I have found my training course in logic pro 10.5 very insightful. I find that tutorials on YouTube can be quite intense, overwhelming and too long. My teacher breaks down the tutorials into short videos (nine minutes being the longest) which has helped me learn at my own pace. I am enjoying the learning process and I’m keen to start another course after this one is completed.

Watch Coca-Colas corporate video productions

In 2020, Coca cola made a 35% cut due to the pandemic. According to a spokesperson for Coca cola, the main reason they paused their marketing campaign was to care for and support local communities during this difficult time. The global company has taken a different approach to improve efficiency in their marketing strategy.

Nets sales in Coca cola dropped to $8.6 billion in 2020. The forecast for that year was $8.63 billion. The net revenue for the first quarter of 2021 grew by 5%, increasing to $9.0 billion.

Chairman and CEO James Quincey stated that “innovation must be more than flavour extensions. It can also be tech-driven, or include enhancing our packaging or formulas, but in the end, it must be consumer-centric”. I think that they achieve this strategy very well. This company produces very engaging corporate video productions that are broadcast all over the world. The advertisement above is from 2019. It is inspiring and creates a big impact on consumers. I love the fact that they give consumers an insight into different cultures around the world. It gives you a feeling of unity and being together with people you haven’t met yet. All from one advertisement, that’s pretty amazing.

Coca cola is the largest beverage company in the world. 1.9 billion units of Coca cola is consumed every day in over 200 countries across the globe. How do they do it? Clever strategies that collect data from every unit sold. A new flavour was introduced back in 2017 that was created by consumers themselves – cherry sprite. Big data technology is the key to the success of launching the new beverage. Coca cola have invested heavily in artificial intelligence to collect solid data from the demand of consumers.

Apple

Apple made a net profit of $64.7 billion dollars in 2020.

Apple has stated that in its fiscal year 2021, their second quarter ended 27thMarch and have a recorded revenue of $89.6 billion. Global sales make up 67% of the quarter’s revenue. This is great news for Apple as their revenue is up by 54%.

CEO Tim Cook says “despite the ongoing impacts of Covid-19, Apple is in the midst of our most prolific product introduction period ever, and the early response to all our new products, led by our first 5G- enabled iPhone line up, has been tremendously positive. From remote learning to the home office, Apple products have been a window to the world for users as the pandemic continues, and our teams have met the needs of this moment with creativity, passion, and the kinds of big ideas that only Apple can deliver”.

Apples marketing campaigns make it easy to love the products. A unique style is present in every product launch video. It’s all about the aesthetics. The processing chip inside the phone isn’t something you would think about. After I watch the advertisement, it’s one of the focal points for me. Who knew a processing chip could be that beautiful. Apple corporate video productions enable us see what we never thought was possible.

I do believe that Apple products have caught the eye of many consumers because of clever marketing. I like the wide colour range, sleek and elegant designs and powerful processers. I have been an apple user on and off for several years. I remember when I got my first apple product, it was the iPod shuffle 2ndgeneration. I remember this small device being the greatest thing since sliced bread. Fast forward to 2021 and the look of apple products never fail to amaze me. I am a huge MacBook pro fan. I have had my 2017 MacBook pro for around four years now. This laptop has served me well through university and is a must have for personal use and work.

Spotify

Spotify made a net profit of $87.974 million in 2020 which is a huge increase compared to the previous year. In 2019 they made a net profit of $76.083 million. In 2021 Spotify made a net profit of $2.5 billion  up from $2.2 billion.

Ceo of Spotify Daniel Ek says “I’m not saying you can’t be successful in the music industry without Spotify. But when I look at the future of music, I don’t think scarcity is the model anymore. We have to embrace ubiquity that music is everywhere”.

Spotify is the biggest streaming and media services provider in the world. I believe that their corporate video productions are very trendy and appeal to a wide audience. Spotify’s most recent video campaign depicts the culture of pride in all its glory. I think this makes Spotify stand out from the rest because of its diverse campaigns. After all it’s about more than just the music, it’s about coming together with music.

Agria pet insurance

Nostairway is a London based production company that specialises in:

  • Video production
  • Voice over production
  • Film post production
  • Audio post production

Nostairway have worked to create many campaigns over the years. I love this video because they have really captured the personality of the dog through their amazing camera work. This video campaign reminds me of my dog Kiki who displays this exact behaviour. Kiki will be so immersed in her treats and the slightest noise will spark her curiosity however she will remain in the same position. Another reason why I love this campaign is the fact that it promotes what a healthy and happy furry friend should look like. It is common for brachycephalic dogs to have trouble breathing. I can see that this little pug is well looked after by its owners and Agria vets. Nostairway has done a great job at representing the benefits of this vet practice. This company is great at creating corporate video productions.
